About Me

Senior Researcher

Sam has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of the West of England and an MSc in Neuropsychology from the University of Bristol. His background is in managing and delivering clinical research.

Sam began his career as a research assistant at the University of Bristol's Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group where he worked on facial recognition training for the treatment of depression, before moving to Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, where he was a researcher in various mental health and diabetes studies, but focused primarily on first-episode psychosis studies. From 2017 to 2022, he was part of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board’s research delivery team as a senior research officer, overseeing the setup, management, and execution of colorectal and general surgery clinical trials, as well as COVID-19 research.

At CEDAR, Sam specialises in research delivery and trial management. He has skills in statistical and quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis, research methods, trial management, trial monitoring, and project management. He currently manages the SPIN-VR, HELPP, and VAP-X studies while also contributing to NICE projects, health economics, and evaluation projects.
