As a healthcare technology research centre, Cedar focuses on research and evaluation involving medical devices and diagnostics. The wide ranging skills of the Cedar team mean we also take on projects in other areas. We have worked with the NHS, academic institutions, commercial sector, publicly funded organisations, and charities.
Our projects span clinical specialities including surgery, anaesthetics, wound healing, cardiovascular, gynaecology, urology, point-of-care diagnostics.
Cedar coordinates and manages clinical research, including trials. We take on large multi-centre studies as well as supporting less experienced researchers to take on pilot/feasibility studies in the NHS.
Cedar is an integral part of the national Value in Health programme. We provide analytical and evaluation capacity.
Cedar undertakes evidence reviews (health technology assessments, systematic reviews, rapid evidence gathering) on a variety of topics. We have contracts with NICE and WHSSC to carry out evidence reviews on medical technologies.
