Deputy Cedar Director / Value Based Healthcare Lead

Kathleen has a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Control (Greenwich University), an MSc in Medical Toxicology (University of Wales College of Medicine) and PG Cert Health Economics (Aberdeen) and is an Honorary Research Associate at Cardiff University (Biomedical Engineering Research Group). Kathleen previously worked in industry before moving to the NHS where she worked as a Specialist in Poisons Information at the National Poisons Information Service (Cardiff) before moving to CEDAR.

Within CEDAR, Kathleen leads the Values Based Healthcare Team, supporting the Welsh Value in Health Centre programme. This includes the delivery of research, evaluations and analytical projects to support evidence based decision making as well as facilitating PROMs selection and implementation across Wales. Kathleen is highly experienced in qualitative research and the development and use of patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) and Patient Reported Experience Measures (PREMs). She has a keen interest in involving people and coproduction, and is a board member of the Co-Production Network for Wales.
