PROMs following cataract surgery

Multiple analysis projects aimed to explore changes in PROMs responses after a cataract procedure using data collected on the National Platform. Including data from an initial 79,000 EQ-5D-5L responses and 2,550 CAT-PROM-5 responses. Initial results showed that most patients have an improvement in outcomes following cataract surgery, with good improvements in the CAT-PROM-5 scores. This analysis confirmed that this tool is more sensitive to change than the EQ-5D-5L in this patient group (as anticipated). Ongoing analysis will aim to explore the potential and develop techniques to use PROM responses to support patient waiting list prioritisation and triage.
