CEDAR is commissioned by the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee (JCC) to support the development and update of its Specialised Services Commissioning Policies. Rapid evidence reviews prepared by CEDAR, on behalf of the JCC, aim to summarise the available clinical and economic evidence as well as describe current practice and patient pathways in Wales, UK and, when relevant, overseas. The purpose of these reviews is to objectively evaluate the evidence and thereby ensure that all JCC Commissioning Policies are evidence based and relevant to Welsh residents.
Examples of CEDAR's rapid evidence reviews, commissioned by the JCC to inform policy development, are:
- Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) for Severe Symptomatic Aortic Stenosis (SSAS) policy (CP58) (Ryczek, E., Peirce, S. C., Knight, L., Cleves, A., Champion, A., Doull, I., & Lewis, S.
